Chair Thomas Ediger reported on the activities the MTNA Foundation, and shared

In closing, Shook
encouraged those in attendance to take the new requirements for FTC compliance
to states and local associations in order to begin work before the certifying
deadline nears. It is important to
remember the clear differentiation between “association” and “individual.” Beth Gigante Klingenstein stressed the
importance of sharing business issues with new and continuing teachers and her
hope that FTC compliance will not mean that we are backing away from issues
that are pertinent to teachers and the business of teaching. Director Shook assured the group that he is
willing to help in any way he can and asked that states begin reviewing printed
