This year’s Pedagogy Saturday has something for everyone. Five tracks will offer an array of topics sure to be of interest to all teachers.

Improvisation Saturday
Eye players read music. Ear players improvise. Today’s wellrounded students need instruction in both. Learn to use the basic theory and music reading you already teach as a foundation for helping students learning to improvise. Full Schedule

MTNA And PAMA: A Pioneering Partnership To Keep Musicians Performing
This year’s Pedagogy Saturday offers a unique pairing between two highly respected professional associations who both serve as powerful musician advocates. This highly anticipated collaboration offers the opportunity to pair medical professionals with professional musicians to discuss the needs and concerns of our members and to help them and their students remain healthy and active. Recreational Music Making
The Recreational Music Making movement opens up the world of music making to potentially millions of piano students who want to learn to play the piano for fun and enjoyment. Come experience what the RMM movement is all about. You’ll discover the rewards of teaching music to people who have always wanted to play, as well as widening your studio’s potential for increased income. Full Schedule

Teaching Artistry And Technique
The Teaching Artistry and Technique track will concentrate on the teaching of young, pre-college students with an additional emphasis on the value of ensemble playing— especially four-hand and two-piano repertoire. The playing of ensemble music, no matter what instrumentation, is extremely helpful in developing careful listening. Careful listening in turn speeds up the improvement of a person’s level of performance and musicianship. Full Schedule

Young Professionals
This track involves a collaboration of individuals who are devoted to the interests of the young professionals, new teachers or college students with goals of teaching. Researchers, recent graduates and established professionals will address the specific needs related to this demographic< through the sharing of research findings and life experiences. Full Schedule
